Driver Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI Following Crash That Leaves Boy Critical

LOS ANGELES ( — The driver of a Cadillac Escalade has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a crash that left an 8-year-old boy in critical condition.

The accident at 22nd Street and Griffith Avenue in Los Angeles’ Central City area was reported to authorities about 12:31 a.m. Sunday.

Police say the child was seated in a backseat of a white Dodge Durango that was T-boned by the Escalade.

The boy was transported to LAC-USC Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition.

Authorities report that the child is expected to survive his injuries.

Both drivers suffered moderate injuries and were transported to hospitals for treatment.
