CAMARILLO (CBSLA.com) — Speed is being blamed in a Ferrari crash that killed the driver and totaled the exotic car.

The car was traveling north on Las Posas Road when the driver lost control around 10 p.m. Thursday, the California Highway Patrol said.

The Ferrari flipped several times before bursting into flames, the Ventura County Star reported.

A 23-year-old passenger survived the crash, but was hospitalized with non-threatening injuries.

The name of the deceased was not released.

It was unknown how fast the Ferrari was going when the accident happened.
