Unidentified Man And Woman Sought In Molestation, Child Porn Case

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Federal authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying a man and a woman suspected of molesting a girl and distributing child pornography.

KNX 1070's John Brooks reports the case involves a series of images Homeland Security investigators believe were taken approximately 11 years ago.

The photos - which were first discovered by agents in Chicago in 2007 in an unrelated child pornography investigation - "depict a male and female adult sexually molesting a girl who looks to be about 13 years old at the time," officials said in a statement.

Although the male suspect's face has been purposely obscured by an unknown person, the female suspect's face and other identifying features can be seen in a number of the images.

"With clear images specifically of Jane Doe, we're confident that with the public's help, we will be able to identify the perpetrators," said U.S. Attorney Andre Birotte. "ON her right shoulder blade, there appears to be a tattoo of a cat curling up."

John Doe appears to be a white male that has a medium to heavy build and is between 40 to 50 years old. He has two distinctive moles on the center of his chest.

Jane Doe appears to be a white female and 35 to 45 years old. She is heavy set with blonde hair and several distinctive tattoos including a black butterfly on her right hip, a curled-up cat on her right shoulder blade, a tattoo with words across the top of her left wrist and a tattoo of unknown design on the upper portion of her left breast.

She also has a piercing on her left eyebrow.

Both suspects would now be about 11 years older.

"Based upon detailed forensic analysis, investigators suspect the abuse depicted in the images may have occurred in Los Angeles, possibly in the San Fernando Valley-area," HIS officials said.

Over 200 adults have been arrested in "Operation Sunflower", a five-week, international investigation of child pornography that ended in December.

But while special agents have conducted dozens of interviews seeking further leads in the case, the suspects in this case have still not been identified.

Anyone with information about the identity of John and Jane Doe should call 1-866-DHS-2-ICE or visit www.ICE.gov/tips. Tips may be reported anonymously.

Authorities are also seeking information about two additional suspects in an unrelated child pornography case.
