LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported Wednesday that there were less than 100 incidents of possible firearms discharging over the New Year’s Eve holiday.
The 93 incidents were reported between 8 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2012, and 4 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2013, within the 130 unincorporated communities and 42 cities the department patrols.
A 74-year-old Gardena woman was injured in the foot by a bullet fragment, officials said.
A Compton woman also reported her car was hit by gunfire over the holiday.
No other injuries or property damage were reported.
