LAKEWOOD (AP) — The sheriff’s department is investigating two separate New Year’s Eve party shootings that claimed the lives of two men and wounded eight other people in the southern suburbs of Los Angeles.
The sheriff’s department says the first shooting occurred Monday around 11:20 p.m. at a home in Lakewood.
A 36-year-old man was killed and five others injured when an argument escalated into gunfire in the driveway.
The second shooting occurred around 1:15 a.m. at a party in nearby Hawthorne. A man was shot to death and three others were injured.
No other details have been released.
