RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a series of robberies including a violent home invasion in the city of Riverside.
A news release issued by the Riverside Police Department says David Garrett of Moreno Valley was arrested in the 21000 block of Dracaea Avenue on Dec. 28.
According to the statement, Garrett is suspected in a Dec. 18, robbery of a Gus Jr. restaurant in which three employees were allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint.
He has also been identified in a Dec. 4, home invasion robbery in the city of Riverside, police said.
According to authorities, an 80-year-old man lost consciousness after being beaten and then choked in that incident.
Bail for Garrett has been set at $1,000.000.
He remains in custody at the Robert Presley Detection Center.
