Man, Girlfriend Arrested On Suspicion Of Killing, Burying His 4-Year-Old Daughter

SAN BERNARDINO (CBS/AP) — Authorities have arrested a father and his girlfriend on suspicion of killing the man's 4-year-old daughter and burying her in a shallow grave in San Bernardino County.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Bachman says in a statement that 21-year-old Ronald Greer and 19-year-old Bianca Stanch -- both of Adelanto -- were arrested Friday morning after a tipster told authorities the child hadn't been seen.

Bachman says authorities investigated and uncovered information that led them to search the high desert south of Baker, where they found the girl's body.

It was unclear how long it had been since the child had been killed or buried.

Greer and Stanch were booked on suspicion of murder and assault on a child.

(UPDATE) On Friday evening homicide investigators made an additional arrest in connection with Downing's murder. Investigators interviewed Rayshawn Stanch (Bianca's cousin) and at the conclusion of that interview booked him at Central Detention Center for murder and parole violation.

Rayshawn Stanch is being held without bail and is expected to be arraigned, along with Greer and Bianca Stanch, on Wednesday.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is urged to contact the Homicide Detective J. Steers at (909)387-3589. Callers wishing to remain anonymous are urged to call the We-tip Hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463).
