Escaped Inmate Captured In Anaheim

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — A man who escaped from an Irvine jail last week was captured in Anaheim Thursday afternoon.

Marvin Manzo, 35, was arrested around 1:15 p.m. at Euclid Street and La Palma Avenue after authorities received a tip the suspect was in the area.

The inmate fled James A. Musick Jail around 5 p.m. last Thursday, according to Gail Krause of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Jail staff realized he was missing during an inmate count.

Manzo, who has a history of grand theft, vandalism and resisting arrest, was sent to jail Nov. 2 for a probation violation.

He was sentenced to 180 days in jail and three years of probation. He was scheduled to be released in April 2013.

Krause said Manzo may get another year in jail because he escaped.
