Police Release Sexual Assault Suspect's Photo To Find Other Potential Victims

MANHATTAN BEACH (CBSLA.com) — The Manhattan Beach Police Department has released a photo of a taxi driver arrested on suspicion of sexual assault because he may have attacked other women.

Sameh , 38, was arrested on Nov. 21 for allegedly assaulting a female passenger he had transported on Aug. 19 in Manhattan Beach, Detective Mike Rosenberger said. He is a resident of Torrance.

The victim didn't initially report the incident until she saw a news report of a sexual assault with similar circumstances that was committed in Redondo Beach.

The police department initially withheld the suspect's name and photo but decided to release that information based on calls they have received from potential victims and other members of law enforcement.

Investigators are questioning sexual assault victims from Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach to see if they share any connection to the suspect.

Detectives ask that anyone who has been assaulted or molested by a taxi driver in the South Bay during the past year please contact police.

United Taxi, the company that employs Shenouda, "has been very cooperative with investigators," Rosenberger said.

Shenouda remains under arrest.
