Stolen Christmas Gifts Recovered During Traffic Stop In San Marino

SAN MARINO (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a routine traffic stop in San Marino has led to the recovery of several wrapped Christmas presents taken from a home earlier in the day.

A statement issued by the San Marino Police Department says authorities stopped a vehicle about 11:10 a.m. Saturday that matched a description from an earlier report of a suspicious car parked on Wilson Avenue.

The officers thereafter noticed a large number of wrapped Christmas gifts in the vehicle and were told by dispatchers that a residential burglary had been reported on West Drive.

"After a consent search of the vehicle, the officers located several items of stolen property and burglary tools," the statement said. "All the wrapped Christmas gifts were positively identified by the resident (victim)."

Five suspects, ranging in age from 19 to juveniles, were taken into custody.

The adults were being held at Alhambra Jail while the minors were released to their guardians.

Officers are looking for additional victims for several other items that remain unclaimed. Anyone with information was asked to call Detective Susana Franco (626) 300-0726.
