VENTURA (CBSLA.com) — A person was injured in a second-story fall Sunday at the Pacific View Mall in Ventura, according to police.
Officers responded to a call of a possible fall victim inside the mall just after 5:30 p.m.
Police called for emergency medical personnel to treat the victim.
The injured and unidentified party was transported to Ventura County Medical Center with severe injuries.
Authorities said it was unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the fall.
The investigation is ongoing. Police said a preliminary finding concluded the victim jumped from the second-story balcony.
The mall is located in the 3300 block of E. Main Street.
