BARSTOW (AP) — Officials say two men were found dead in a concrete vault along a high desert highway east of Barstow.
The San Bernardino County coroner said in a statement Saturday that the bodies of 47-year-old Martin Freeman Killebrew and 21-year-old Jessie Lee Harris, both from Daggett, were discovered by sheriff’s deputies and California Highway Patrol officers in the vault off National Trails Highway near Interstate 40.
The coroner says the initial investigation found there was a small fire in the vault, but an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
