ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — A woman was hit in the head with a hammer during an attempted robbery in the parking lot of an Anaheim bank Tuesday.

The incident happened around 4:15 p.m. at a Chase Bank branch in the 500 block of North Euclid Street.

The suspect was held by bank customers and employees until police took the woman into custody.

The victim was taken to the hospital with head and facial injuries.
