LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Kelly Clarkson is engaged to Brandon Blackstock, the singer announced Saturday.

The former “American Idol” star shared the news over Twitter this weekend.

“I’M ENGAGED!!!!! I wanted y’all to know!! Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever,” she tweeted.

Clarkson and Blackstock have reportedly been dating for close to a year.

The 30-year-old singer also tweeted a picture of her engagement ring.

Described by Clarkson as a “yellow canary diamond with diamonds around it,” the ring was reportedly designed by Blackstone and Johnathon Arndt.

She tweeted, “They did an amazing job! I can’t wait to make Brandon’s ring with Johnathon as well!”

It’s not known if a date for the wedding has been set.
