BIG BEAR (CBSLA.com) — Don’t be surprised to see a mass exodus of skiers and snowboarders to the mountains this weekend.
Running Springs, Wrightwood and Big Bear were delighted to see the storm that brought rain throughout Southern California bring snow to their mountain communities.
“We got about 5 to 7 inches of fresh snow, just since this morning, really,” a Snow Summit employee said.
The heavy snow reportedly began falling at 3:30 a.m. Thursday.
Snow Summit in Big Bear and Mountain High in Wrightwood both plan to be open for business this weekend.
Chain laws are in effect.
