Police Search For SoCal 'Gas Station Bandit'

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police are on the hunt for the man accused of robbing dozens of gas stations across Southern California.

Sources claim the armed suspect, dubbed the "Gas Station Bandit", has randomly targeted filling stations from Orange County to the San Fernando Valley since the summer.

In most of the crimes, the suspect wears a plaid shirt and a baseball hat.

Detectives from the LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division would only tell KCAL9's Suraya Fadel that they're looking into a series of armed robberies with similar M.O.'s.

Lili Gomez, a cashier at a Burbank Shell station that was reportedly robbed by the suspect, said she hopes the person is caught before his behavior escalates.

"I'm scared. Maybe he'll come back," she said.
