1971 World Champion Lakers To Help Raise Funds Saturday For Local High School Athletics

LOS ANGELES (KNX 1070) — Want to shake hand with Laker legends?

Lakers fans will get a chance to meet the 1971 World Championship Laker team at a charity event this Saturday, Dec. 8 in Santa Monica.

Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Gail Goodrich, Jim McMillian, Keith Erickson, Jim Cleamons, Flynn Robinson, Coach Bill Sharman and Coach Bill Bertka are expected to help the West Coast Sports Medicine Foundation raise funds to help high schools with sports medicine care, athletic trainers and physicians.

Bill Walton is scheduled to be Master of Ceremonies.

For $2,500 a ticket, fans will get a chance to "meet and greet" the players at 6:15 p.m., at Valentino Restaurant, 3115 Pico Blvd., in Santa Monica. The event features a dinner, wine tasting and live auction to follow.
