Serial Groper Attacks Women While Riding Bike In Long Beach

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Police are on the hunt for a serial groper who sexually attacks women while riding his bicycle in Long Beach.

The suspect, who was captured on video, grabs victims in their breasts or buttocks while they walk on the sidewalk on or near Fourth Street between Chestnut and Junipero avenues.

"He does it so fast by riding on the bike and then just grabbing and riding off," said Sgt. Aaron Eaton from the Long Beach Police Department.

Police said the man has struck a dozen times in the past two months.

"We know of 12 (victims). There's a good chance there are other victims out there," said Eaton.

Officials are concerned the groper's actions could escalate.

"If somebody's willing to do that type of crime, there is always a possibility that they may try other serious crimes," Eaton said.

The suspect is described as Hispanic, up to 6 feet tall and 180 to 240 pounds.

He's been seen on a BMX, a silver mountain bike, and a lowrider bike.

Anyone with information on the suspect is encouraged to contact the Long Beach Police Department.
