BURBANK (CBSLA.com) — Flights are departing on schedule Friday from the Bob Hope Airport after a major electrical problem left the runway dark Thursday night.
The lights were restored at 5:30 a.m.
Several outbound flights were canceled and a number of inbound flights were diverted Thursday night after the runway edge lighting system went out around 10 p.m. Wednesday, airport spokesman Victor Gill said.
“Bob Hope Airport is open this morning and the runway lights that were out last night have been repaired. Airlines were able to position aircraft at the airport to start their morning schedule. As always, passengers are advised to check their flight status with the airline they are using,” the airport website said.
