SUN VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — A baby nearly drowned when she fell into a toilet at a home in Sun Valley on Tuesday.
The incident happened shortly before 10 a.m. at the residence in the 8200 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard.
Lt. Scott Harrelson from the Los Angeles Police Department told the Daily News that the infant was playing with her sister in a locked bathroom when the older sibling started to cry for help.
The girls’ mom kicked the door open and pulled the baby out of the toilet.
Harrelson said officers called to the scene were able to open up the baby’s airways.
The baby was flown to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in serious condition.
