Small M2.8 Quake Rattles Westside

SANTA MONICA (CBSLA.com) — A minor earthquake woke up some Westside residents a little early on Thanksgiving Day.

The magnitude-2.8 temblor struck about 6:06 a.m. on Thursday, acccording to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

The quake was centered about 2 miles west-southwest of El Segundo, where resident Nancy Peake said she definitely felt it.

"Two or three seconds, there was no rolling, there was no rocking," Peake told KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO.

No damage or injuries were reported.
