TORRANCE (CBSLA.com) — Three people were fatally shot Tuesday at a senior living community in Torrance in an apparent double murder-suicide.
A man in his 80s allegedly shot two women, one of whom was a staff member, before shooting himself at Golden West Tower in the 3500 block of Maricopa St., according to Torrance police Sgt. Robert Watt.
The shooting happened in the complex’s common area, which also serves as the community’s lobby. All 10 floors of the building were evacuated.
Police say they are looking into the motive and the relationship between the shooter and a woman who has not been identified.
