STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Another cold morning for wind protected communities.

Temperatures in the high desert will fall below freezing and valley cities will be in the 40s. There are still some gusty winds this morning in some canyons. It is for this reason that there is a Red Flag Warning is in effect for mountain communities in LA and Ventura County.

The dry weather continues tomorrow. You can expect daytime highs today and tomorrow to reach several degrees above average for this time of year. We should be hovering in the 70s and low 80s.

By Thursday a trough approaches the west coast. Expect increasing clouds as the trough moves along with cooler temperatures. We have a chance for some light showers Friday and Saturday.

There is another more significant system moving into the area on Sunday…this could spell measurable rain late Sunday and early Monday.

Coast-mid to upper 70s
Basin-upper 70s to low 80s
Valleys-low 80s
Mountains-upper 50s
Deserts-low 70s
