BEVERLY HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Hungry for lunch? How about a $500 hamburger?
The Avalon Hotel’s Oliverio Restaurant is serving up just that in honor of truffle season.
Created by Chef Mirko Paderno, the pricey Hamburger Al Tartufo is made up of 12-ounces of Kobe beef, truffle-infused cheese and a two-ounce topping of freshly shaved white truffle.
It must be ordered 48 hours in advance due to “limited availability and high demand,” according to Oliverio’s menu.
If hamburgers aren’t your thing, try the Pizzetta Al Tartufo. The $500 pie comes with buffalo mozzarella and two ounces of fresh white truffle.
Reservations on all truffle menu items must be prepaid.
Before Chef Mirko’s pricey creation, New York City’s Serendipity 3 held the title for Most Expensive Burger. The “Le Burger Extravagant” includes four different cuts of beef for $295.
