Twins Wanted For OC Ransack Burglaries, Holding Family Hostage

FULLERTON (CBSLA.com) — Police are on the hunt for 20-year-old twins they say have been involved in a series of ransack burglaries in Orange County.

The men are also accused of holding at least one family hostage during a home invasion robbery on Monday.

Authorities believe the twins were working with two other men. Officials said the other two suspects have been arrested and are behind bars.

The twins, identified as Dillon and Dean Castillo of Huntington Beach,  are using a taxi to elude capture, according to authorities.

Police told CBS2 and KCAL9 reporter Michele Gile they are desperate to capture the twins before someone is seriously hurt.

The brothers are allegedly guilty of kidnapping, burglary and evading arrest. And Gile says the twins "know they are wanted."

They are accused of holding a young woman and her parents hostage on Monday.

Gile spoke to the 29-year-old woman but protected her identity on camera. "They said 'Don't be scared. We are good people."

She told Gile the men kept her family hostage for five hours.

The brothers and their accomplices are accused of targeting homes and cleaning them out during daylight hours.

Fullerton Police Sgt. Jeff Stuart said, "I can tell you that of the two men taken into custody, one of the subjects was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm but also in the possession of a LA County Sheriff's badge. The fact he also had a loaded firearm gives us pause for our safety, and also the public's safety."

Police said the burglars were caught red handed after one break-in Monday but the twins were able to get away.

Officials urge anyone who has seen the twins to call 911.
