Boyle Heights Man Accused Of Murdering 2 People Including His Brother
BOYLE HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — Police in Boyle Heights say they have arrested a man who is accused of murdering his brother and a friend of his sibling's.
The double homicide occurred in a house Tuesday around 4 p.m., according to police.
Two brothers, their mother, a sister and a friend of the family were all inside a home in the 3300 block of East Hunter Street, said officials.
One brother reportedly entered the back bedroom where he confronted his brother and his brother's friend following a dispute. The brother allegedly opened fire and shot both men.
Police said when they arrived at the residence, they found the alleged gunman sitting on a couch inside the home.
One man was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was rushed to a local hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The LA Times reported the suspect was identified as 25-year-old Israel Lopez. He is accused of murdering his brother, 29-year-old Gustavo Lopez and his friend, 22-year-old Rafael Aguilar.
