Man Allegedly Prowls West Covina Home As Residents Hide Inside

WEST COVINA (CBSLA.com) — A suspected prowler was arrested at a West Covina home Tuesday after residents locked themselves inside a bedroom and called police.

Officers were called to the 900 block of West Lucille Avenue at approximately 5:30 a.m. after a man tried to enter a house through the back door. Shortly thereafter, a second caller from that street reported an intruder inside her home, Officer Rudy Lopez said.

Officers arrived to the second home and found the suspect in the hallway, Lopez said.

Alfredo Garcia, 29, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of methamphetamine. His bail was set at $50,000.

Two women and a teenage girl were found hiding inside a back bedroom with two babies. They were reportedly uninjured.
