Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Nov. 5)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — We will start the week with possible record breaking heat.

An off-shore flow and Santa Ana wind is in place and this increasing the fire danger. There is a Red Flag Warning for the Mountains of Los Angeles and Ventura County.

The dry air mass and north to northeast winds will help to bring us temperatures in the 80s and 90s. The high pressure responsible for the heat breaks down on Tuesday and Wednesday...and we will cool off for the rest of the week.

An approaching storm that is moving into the west coast will give us opposite conditions...much cooler with daytime highs topping out in the low to mid 60s...along with a chance for rain from Thursday to Sunday. So we are looking at bookending this week with hot and dry on one side...and cool and wet on the other.

Coast-upper 80s
Basin-low to mid 90s
Valleys-low to mid 90s
Mountains-upper 60s
Deserts-mid 80s
