IRWINDALE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Saturday released the identity of an elderly woman killed in a hit–and-run accident in Irwindale.
The crash happened shortly after 6 a.m. Friday at Live Oak and Stewart avenues.
The victim, identified by a coroner’s official as 80-year-old CuLee Nguyen of Baldwin Park, was crossing the street when she was struck by a car.
Witnesses told officers that the driver of a compact car – possibly a silver Toyota Echo – took off. Investigators say it has a broken windshield and major front-end damage.
Anyone with information about the case or whereabouts of the hit-and-run driver was asked to call Irwindale police at (626) 430-2244.
