Arrest Made In Connection With Suspicious Death Of Murrieta Mom

MURRIETA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities have announced the arrest of a 22-year-old Hemet man as the suspect in a suspicious death of a Murrieta mom.

Shanae Christina Wesley, 23, was found dead Wednesday morning in her Murrieta apartment after firefighters put out a suspicious fire.

A neighbor rescued the woman's 3-year-old son from the apartment.

Officials said Saturday that Marquise McGlown is considered to be the prime suspect in Wesley's death. He was arrested Friday.

Murrieta Police Lt. Tony Conrad said McGlown was being held without bail for a parole violation in another crime.

Wesley's son was treated at the hospital and released in good condition. The lieutenant did not say where the boy was currently staying.

Additional charges are expected to be filed against McGlown -- including possible arson -- pending further review of the Riverside County District Attorney's office.
