SANTA ANA (CBS2) — Police say they have nabbed a suspected armed robber and seized a sawed-off shotgun following a wild pursuit in Santa Ana.

CBS2’s Michele Gile reports that the chase came to an end on Westminster Avenue Friday afternoon.

According to police, the suspect had terrorized Santa Ana residents over the course of the last several days.

Police told Gile that the suspect was driving around in a black truck he had allegedly stolen a few days ago, committing several robberies.

The last alleged crime occurred at Alona Park.

That’s where police say the suspect held residents at gunpoint. Not long after, police said they spotted the stolen truck and a chase ensued.

Gile reports that the suspect struck four vehicles during the pursuit along Harbor Boulevard before blowing out three tires.

The suspect then fled on foot, running with the sawed-off shotgun, but was struck by a police cruiser before the K-9 officer apprehended him.
