ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) — Beholder led all the way, holding off 3-2 favorite Executiveprivilege by one length to capture the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies at Santa Anita.
It was the 13th victory in the season-ending championships for jockey Garrett Gomez and the seventh for trainer Richard Mandella .
Beholder pinned the first loss on trainer Bob Baffert’s Executiveprivilege, ending her five-race winning streak. Friday’s time was 1:43.61 for the 1 1-16 miles.
Beholder paid $9.80, $4.60 and $3. Executiveprivilege returned $3.40 and $2.40, while Dreaming of Julia paid $3.20.
