PALMDALE (CBSLA.com) — A woman claimed her $23 million SuperLotto Plus prize Thursday night, after five months of being unaware she won.
Julie Cervera’s daughter purchased the ticket in Palmdale for her on May 30 at Michael’s Market and Liquor in the 3700 block of 47th Street East.
Cervera, 70, had placed the ticket in the center consul and forgot about it.
The widow claimed her prize after one her other daughters recognized her sister in a photo, which was taken from the store surveillance video and released on Tuesday.
Cervera has several adopted kids, including two with special needs.
She said she only had $1 in her pocket, her cable had just been shut off and she was about to overdraw her checking account.
