West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval To Be Held Along Santa Monica Blvd.

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Beware, ghosts and goblins, West Hollywood is preparing for one of the largest Hallow's Eve celebrations.

The 2012 West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval will be held Wednesday along Santa Monica Boulevard between Doheny Drive and La Cienaga Boulevard from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

KNX 1070's Pete Demetriou reports as many as 400,000 revelers are expected to fill the streets along ten city blocks.

The event will include three large stages featuring entertainers:

Drag of Horrors – Rock and rock drag show with burlesque and pyrotechnics. Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Tranzcontinental, Helles Belles and Fire Groove will perform. This stage is on Santa Monica Boulevard and San Vincente Boulevard.

Dungeon of Sin – The Sideshow Sirens, Barbie's Addiction and Vaud and the Villians will perform. This stage is on Santa Monica Boulevard and Almont Drive.

Thrills and Chills – Zen Freeman, The Orchestre Surreal and Miss Barbie-Q will perform. This stage is on Santa Monica Boulevard and La Cienega Boulevard.

Participants can park in public parking lots throughout West Hollywood.

Santa Monica Boulevard and several adjacent streets will also be temporarily closed through Thursday morning, including:

  • San Vicente Boulevard between Melrose Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard from 12 a.m., Wednesday through 7 a.m., Thursday;
  • Santa Monica Boulevard between Doheny Drive and La Cienega Boulevard including all side streets from 12 p.m. Wednesday through 6 a.m., Thursday;
  • Robertson Boulevard between Melrose Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard from 12 p.m., Wednesday through 6 a.m., Thursday.
