LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) Kobe Bryant announced via Facebook that he will make the start for the Lakers’ home opener against the Dallas Mavericks.
“Feeling good enough to play tonight! I’ll use my strong midsoles for added cushion on the foot for more protection,” said Kobe on Facebook. Looking forward to this journey as I’m sure you are. It’s Go Time.”
Kobe has been fighting a foot injury he sustained on Oct 21 during a preseason game against the Sacramento Kings.
Kobe was a game-time decision after morning shoot around.
“I never get clearance,” Bryant said after shoot around. “Either I’m ready to go or I’m not ready to go. But they’ve done a great job treating me and getting me ready. We’ve been together for so long that they trust my judgment.”
Dwight Howard will make his Lakers debut tonight after an off-season blockbuster trade.
