LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A minor earthquake has been reported in the Newhall area.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the magnitude-3.9 quake struck at 8:24 a.m. Sunday.
Its magnitude was initially registered at 3.8, but was later upgraded.
The quake’s epicenter was four miles east-southeast of Newhall and five miles south-southeast of Santa Clarita.
It was followed by an aftershock, which was recorded on the KCBS/KCAL seismograph, at 8:37 a.m.
The quake was felt in Studio City, Valencia, and the San Fernando Valley, as well as, in downtown Los Angeles.
The quake did not cause any structure or infrastructure damage, according to LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey.
No injuries were reported.
