ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — A suspect has been wounded in an officer-involved shooting in Anaheim.
A press release issued by the Anaheim Police Department said the shooting occurred in the 200 block of Narda Street about 1:25 a.m. Sunday.
Anaheim police Sgt. Bob Dunn said the suspect, who was riding a bicycle at the time, made a threatening move after an officer tried to stop.
“The suspect, a male adult, was struck one time. He is in critical condition but he is expected to survive,” Dunn said.
Dunn said a gun, believed to belong to the suspect, was recovered at the scene, KNX 1070’s Ed Mertz reported.
Mertz reported that the incident took place just over a mile to the northeast of Disneyland where police say extra patrols have been added due to an increase in gang violence.
