LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)Matt Barkley hooked up with Robert Woods for the third time Saturday against the Colorado Buffaloes to break Matt Leinart’s USC and Pac-12 touchdown pass record.
Barkley got the green light from Lane Kiffin to light it up Buffalo as they came in to the game as 40-point favorites.
Barkley broke Leinart’s record with a 29-yard pass to “Woody” with 12:15 left in the second quarter for his 100th touchdown pass.
Before halftime, Barkley threw for 269 yards and five touchdowns and three of them with Woods.
After breaking the record, USC prepared a montage on the big screen featuring Chris Paul, Matt Leinart, Carson Palmer, Keyshawn Johnson and Luke Robitaille saying congrats to the all-time touchdown leader for USC.
Woods finished with eight catches for 132 yards, and the All-American blew past Jarrett’s record midway through his junior year, ending up with 220 catches.
Barkley, who has 102 career touchdowns, was taken out of the game midway through the third quarter after throwing six touchdowns.
