Man Accused Of Intentionally Causing Girlfriend's Miscarriage Posts Bail

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A restaurant owner accused of poisoning his girlfriend to cause her to suffer a miscarriage has been released from jail after posting bail.

Joshua Woodward is facing multiple charges in connection with the alleged poisoning his then-girlfriend in 2009 with a drug known to induce early labor.

Her pregnancy ended at 13-weeks.

On Wednesday, Woodward pleaded not guilty to four counts of attempted willful, deliberate and premeditated murder of his ex-girlfriend's fetus.

Woodward, 40, is an investor in upscale restaurants in Los Angeles and Miami.

He faces life in prison if convicted.
