PALMDALE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say they have arrested a suspected gas siphoning bandit in Palmdale.
The incident was reported about 11:52 p.m. Thursday in a parking lot in the 400 block of West Palmdale Boulevard.
A statement issued by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says that deputies responded to the location following a gas theft call.
According to the statement, deputies arriving on scene found a large amount of gas on the ground, as well as, a truck they say had been “equipped to steal fuel.”
“The truck was modified with a large, unattached, auxiliary fuel tank in the truck bed, which was full of fuel,” the statement added.
Deputies subsequently located 43-year-old Danny Hales of Lancaster whom they arrested on suspicion of grand theft.
