VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — A man was killed by police after a wild car chase in Van Nuys Wednesday night.

The incident happened around 9:40 p.m. at Vanowen Street and Firmament Avenue.

According to Sky9’s Stu Mundel, a suspect in a silver sedan shot at authorities during the high speed pursuit and police returned fire.

A woman inside the suspect’s car was being treated for unknown injuries and was taken into custody.

No officers were hurt.

Police are investigating.
