HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A police pursuit ended Friday evening Hollywood with a violent crash that left rescuers trying to extricate a female passenger from a vehicle.
Firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to rescue the woman, reportedly a passenger in the car pursued by police.
The woman was rescued and taken to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.
Authorities said the crash, which involved a white SUV and a black vehicle being pursued by police, occurred at Franklin Avenue and Cahuenga Boulevard.
Officials said the intersection was closed while the investigation into the crash was on-going.
Three males were taken into custody. The driver was reportedly wanted for evading.
Carter Evans, reporting for CBS2 and KCAL9, said the chase started in West Hollywood.
The driver of the Cadillac Escalade was reportedly taken to the hospital in an unknown condition.
