Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Oct. 11)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) —A chance at widely scattered showers today.

The cut-off low pressure system continues to spin off-shore...however a lobe of moisture is swinging around it and moving into some of our coastal communities.

There is also some moisture moving through the high desert right now as well. It will be an unsettled day with some cooler temperatures as the low continues its painfully slow trek to the south. This system really doesn't have a lot of moisture associated with it, so any chance at a shower will be scattered in nature. However virtually any area has a shot at a brief heavy downpour.

There were some thunderstorms associated with this system early yesterday up north, so we could see some lightning and hear some thunder Thursday. There is a very slight chance we could even see a water spout spin up in the outer waters.

Once this system moves on...we will see some warmer temperatures. It will be nice on Saturday and by Sunday we start to warm up again with an off-shore flow. Valleys will return into the 90s.

Coast-mid to upper 60s
Basin-upper 60s to low 70s
Valleys-upper 60s
Deserts-upper 60s
Mountains-mid to upper 40s
