MONTEREY PARK (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death of a man inside a Monterey Park pizza restaurant.

The shooting occurred just after 7 p.m. Saturday at a Shakey’s located in the 1900 block of South Atlantic Avenue.

The victim, whose name was not released, was identified as a Latino.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rachel Kim, reporting for CBS2 and KCAL9, said the victim was found near the door.

Early reports from the scene say as many as 20 people were involved in some kind of brawl that turned deadly.

A witness told Kim he was inside the restaurant when a large group of men started throwing chairs at each other. The man told Kim he was scared and he ushered his children out the backdoor.

Police are looking for two male suspects, both believed to be Latin.

The suspects fled on foot into the Atlantic Square Shopping Center.
