Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Oct. 4)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com)— Low clouds and patchy fog are working into the coastal plain and even sneaking into some valley spots this morning.

This will help to encourage more cooling today. Temperatures should top out slightly below average. We will have hazy sunshine this afternoon.

The on-shore flow has strengthened and will keep temperatures mild through the weekend. We will have to contend with some gusty Northwest winds this afternoon. The worst of it will be along the I-5 corridor and the mountains of LA county. We will have to watch for afternoon advisories...and the increased wind will up the fire danger this afternoon as well.

By Monday and Tuesday, the cut-off low that is sitting off-shore right now will move inland and give us a chance at some scattered light showers.

Coast-low 70s
Basin-upper 70s
Valleys-low 80s
Deserts-mid 80s
Mountains-low 70s
