LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives are investigating the suspicious circumstances surrounding the critical injuries of a 6-month-old child.

The infant boy was injured at an undisclosed location in Compton Wednesday evening, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials said.

He was taken to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center around 7 p.m. where he was listed in critical condition, according to authorities.

Details surrounding the infants injuries were not released.
