Glendale Tennis Coach Arrested On Molestation Charges

GLENDALE (CBSLA.com) — A Glendale tennis coach, arrested for allegedly molesting a 15-year-old female student, will make his first court appearance Thursday.

Dale Kim, 46, was arrested on Tuesday and has been charged with 10 counts of lewd acts on a child, seven counts of oral copulation with a minor, and four counts of rape of a minor, according to Glendale police.

"Glendale Police Department Detectives, through their investigation discovered that several of the acts occurred after tennis practice located at the Scholl Canyon Tennis Center in the city of Glendale," Sgt. Thomas R. Lorenz said in a statement.

Kim reportedly rents the court from the Tennis Center to give private lessons, police said. He is not affiliated with the Center or the City of Glendale.

"Further acts of intercourse were in a motel room in the Tujunga area of Los Angeles," Sgt. Lorenz said.

Kim has been a tennis coach for more than ten years and police fear there may be additional victims.

Anyone with information should contact Detective Corrigan at (818)548-3106.

Kim is being held on $875,000 bail.
