MENIFEE (CBS) — An 86-year-old Menifee man accidentally pinned his wife to a wall as he attempted to park his pickup truck, authorities said Wednesday.
The bizarre crash happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday at a residence in the 26800 block of Tropicana Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The man was trying to position his pickup truck in his garage and struck several items, prompting him to pull back out and try again, said sheriff’s Sgt. Sergio Rodriguez.
“His wife entered the garage to help guide him in his parking maneuver,” the sergeant said. “The driver lost control of the truck and accelerated into his wife, pinning her against the wall inside the garage.”
The victim was rushed to a hospital, where she died a short time later, Rodriguez said.
Neither the woman or her husband were identified.
The investigation is ongoing, Rodriguez said.
