LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A man crashed his SUV into a South Los Angeles liquor store after trying to fight off an alleged carjacking, officials said Tuesday.
The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. Monday in the 4200 block of South Broadway, police said.
Police say no weapon was used during the crime and the alleged suspect fled from the scene. He remains at large.
After an investigation, authorities now believe the two men knew each other and ended up in a struggle over the SUV when the crash happened.
The alleged victim was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Building inspectors have red-tagged the liquor store due to the extensive damage.
