Police Seek Person Responsible For Leaving A Hand Grenade At A Store In Redondo Beach

REDONDO BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Investigators are searching Tuesday for the suspect who left a hand grenade in front of a 99 Cents Only Store in Redondo Beach.

Officers were called to the store in the 2700 block of Manhattan Beach Boulevard after a store employee found the device around 7:35 p.m. Monday, Redondo Beach police Sgt. Shawn Freeman said.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Bomb Squad was called in and the store was evacuated.

The grenade was deemed inactive and non threatening, according to Freeman.

Investigators are still determining where the device came from.
